My name is Amanda Flynn and I am the Blended Counselor/Prevention Specialist at CMAVTS. "Blended" means that I work at the school, but represent our Single County Authority, CMSU.
I have my BSW from Bloomsburg University (dual major in psychology) and I have my MSW from Marywood University. My specialization is in Child and Family Practice. I am a licensed social worker.
My background is in the mental health field where I previously worked as a Children's Resource Coordinator at CMSU. I have also had experience in adolescent drug and alcohol as well as internship experience with adults and children in the therapeutic setting.
The 2020-2021 school year will be my 5th year at CMAVTS. I love working in a school that effectively prepares students for their future!
*Confidentiality: Due to the fact that I work for our county agency, there are instances where I am to follow drug and alcohol confidentiality, mental health confidentiality, or school confidentiality guidelines.
I am a mandated reporter, meaning i have a legal obligation (just like other school workers) to report instances of suspected child abuse or anything having to do with the safety of a student/student(s).

In PA, the age of consent for mental health treatment is 14, while there is no minimum age for Drug and alcohol treatment. (can also find this on the DHS website).
