Dear Parent(s):

The S.C.O.R.E. Conference is a healthy relationships conference for local high school students.  The Teen Pregnancy Prevention Action Coalition in collaboration with Bloomsburg University’s Master’s in Counseling Program sponsor the conference.  The purpose of the field trip is to promote knowledge and attitudes supporting the development of healthy relationships and empowering teens to make responsible decisions which reduce the risk of teen dating violence, teen pregnancy, and sexually transmitted diseases.

S.C.O.R.E. stands for self-esteem, communication, openness, respect, and equality in relationships.  This year’s conference is being held at the Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomsburg from 8:30am-2:00pm TBD.  Students who attend will receive a free t-shirt and will also be provided with lunch at no cost*.  Attached is the field trip permission form.  Please fill out the information and return with your child to school.  Forms will be due back to Student Services by March 15th.  They will be numbered according to when their completed form was handed in.  Students who have unexcused absences, incomplete assignments, or disciplinary concerns might not be able to attend.

If you would like more information regarding your child participating in this trip, please call or email me at any time. You may keep this letter as a reminder about the field trip.

Thank you,

Amanda Flynn, LSW

*In the past, the lunch provided at the conference has been pizza with assorted toppings. If your student has any dietary restrictions, it is recommended that students will have to bring their own lunch to the conference.  At this time, with the different high schools attending it is hard to coordinate and accommodate. We are sorry for any inconvenience.
